Blue circular fishing– Transnational Innovation and Skills for a Sustainable Adriatic (PROVISIONA
active 2 weeks agoThe project aims to promote a transnational transition of the fisheries sector in the Adriatic-Ionian region toward a circular and sustainable economic model. By combining knowledge sharing, vocational training, and eco-innovation, the initiative will address critical environmental and economic issues such as:
-marine plastic pollution and fishery-derived waste;
-lack of circular skills among operators, youth and institutions;
-low exploitation of by-products and innovation in fish processing.
Key outputs include a transnational baseline assessment, a training platform with multilingual e-courses, and the co-development of an eco-friendly prototype (e.g. biodegradable packaging from fish waste), plus policy guidelines to foster replication.
Partner Profiles:
We are looking for committed partners from IPA ADRION countries to jointly develop and implement the project. In particular, we welcome expressions of interest from:
Research centres and universities specializing in marine biology, environmental sciences, or circular economy, to lead scientific coordination, waste analysis, and development of training content.
Vocational education and training (VET) providers and NGOs, to develop and implement training modules, engage people, and conduct capacity-building activities.
SMEs or clusters in the blue economy, fisheries, or eco-design sectors, to participate in the piloting phase, contribute to knowledge transfer, and mentor circular business models.
Local and regional public authorities or environmental agencies, to engage in policy dialogue, participate in transnational governance, and disseminate guidelines.
We aim to establish a balanced partnership including both ERDF and IPA countries (NOT FROM ITALY), ensuring diverse perspectives and expertise.
