active 11 months agoDoboj South Municipality is placed in Zenica-Doboj canton and borders with Tešanj Municipality and with Usora Municipality. The area of the Doboj South Municipality is placed in the northeast of Bosnia and Herzegovina and serves a population of approximately 4.500 inhabitants. It is placed on the confluence of rivers Bosna and Usora. Unfortunately, Doboj South was affected by floods that happened in 2010, then the big flood in 2014, (the same year almost half of Bosnia and Herzegovina was flooded), and also in 2019. However, because of the fact that our municipality is going to build a big highway corridor VC which is a project of our country and is also funded by the European Union the flooding problem is going to be solved by finishing the same project. Doboj South Municipality takes all local services effectively, efficiently, and in harmony within its boundaries. Doboj South Municipality is placed between the municipality of Tešanj, Doboj, and Usora. As a matter of fact, Doboj South Municipality was founded in the year of 1998 after the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, it has great growing industrial potential and its aims are to develop itself even more. Doboj South Municipality has one central and one district school with approximately 400 students. We also have a public utility company that serves the needs for trash removal for all our inhabitants, but we have aims to recycle this trash and reuse it.
Doboj South Municipality is mostly agricultural and most of our inhabitants are growing their own agricultural goods because of that fact we have certain needs to improve the conditions of our inhabitants. The main goal is the procurement of greenhouses and reducing carbon emissions.
As a municipality, we take care of the reduction of environmental pollution, re-evaluation of wastes, and a sustainable environment.
Because of the fact that we are still a young municipality and that we are in the phase of development, we are aiming to improve the life standard of all our inhabitants and we have goals to improve ourselves in environmental protection such as wastewater management, recycling, wild dumps removal, fresh water wells but we are also opened to different projects to discuss.
Our ultimate goal is to spread the zero waste practice through Doboj South Municipality by motivating us even more with the sensitivity of our citizens to the environment
