RAILS – Rural Accessibility and Intermodal Logistics Solutions
active 2 weeks agoThe RAILS project addresses persistent challenges of accessibility, mobility, and socio-economic isolation in rural, remote, and peripheral areas of the Adriatic-Ionian region. These territories face limited transport infrastructure, high car dependency, poor public transport services, and an urgent need for sustainable, low-emission solutions. This not only hampers regional cohesion but also increases environmental degradation and social inequality.
RAILS proposes a transnational, integrated framework for designing, piloting, and implementing smart, sustainable, and intermodal mobility solutions. It leverages stakeholder co-design, digital tools, and innovative transport models to reimagine access to essential services, jobs, and education for underserved populations.
