ResilientMind – Digital Crisis Resilience Hubs through Artificial Intelligence
active 1 week, 4 days agoResilientMind is a cross-regional initiative designed to enhance the crisis resilience of vulnerable territories across the Adriatic-Ionian area through the creation of a pioneering network of AI-powered Digital Resilience Hubs (DRHs). The project is led by the University that developed the “Risk and Capital Resilience Assessment Center” of the Region of Eastern Macedonia and Thrace (AMTH), bringing cutting-edge expertise in regional risk evaluation and strategic response planning.
ResilientMind will deploy five pilot hubs in high-risk areas prone to climate-induced disasters such as wildfires, floods, and heatwaves. Each hub will be equipped with AI-based forecasting systems, real-time risk visualization, and open-data integration with platforms like Copernicus and national meteorological institutes. The hubs will also serve as local points for simulation exercises, data collection, and decision-making under stress conditions.
A strong focus will be placed on community engagement, with tools for crowdsourced risk mapping (mobile/web), interactive storytelling, and youth-targeted campaigns promoting preparedness and participation. Local authorities, civil protection bodies, and citizens will co-create action plans and guidelines that reflect both data-driven insights and social realities.
The project’s holistic approach also includes capacity building, hands-on training of over 200 stakeholders, the development of a Resilience Playbook for municipalities, and a robust exploitation strategy for sustainability and policy uptake.
By combining the academic leadership and risk assessment expertise of the lead university with a strong partnership of civil protection agencies, research centers, and tech SMEs, ResilientMind will serve as a scalable model for intelligent, inclusive, and adaptive crisis management across Europe.
