active 2 weeks agoThe Sustainable Wine Tourism Route is an integrated form of rural and cultural tourism that promotes the economic diversification of wine-growing regions while also contributing to the preservation of local traditions, gastronomy, and the natural environment.In the context of the Tikvesh region, which is the most important wine-producing area in the Republic of North Macedonia, wine tourism has the potential to become a strategic tool for sustainable territorial development. By promoting sustainable wine tourism, the region can build resilience against potential economic shocks caused by climate change or broader macroeconomic factors. Cohesion and collaboration with potential project partners are crucial for us. They allow for the exchange of experiences and help identify the strengths and weaknesses of all participants. This teamwork is essential for developing effective solutions to the practical challenges we encounter each day in implementing sustainable wine tourism. The foundation of wine tourism is built on sustainable vine cultivation and viticultural practices, which are essential for minimizing the use of unnecessary chemical treatments while preserving environmental health and agrobiodiversity. We believe that by establishing clear standards for pest and disease control, we can indirectly enhance the overall sustainability of wine tourism. To strengthen cooperation among partners and facilitate the exchange of knowledge, it is advisable to publish a comprehensive catalog that outlines the project’s key milestones, outcomes, and deliverables.
